Effervesciences Day

Effervesciences Day :

This year, the congress will again start with a special event which will take place during the afternoon of Sunday 29th June, in the city centre of Troyes.

During this event, the Scientific Culture commission invites you to share your research and your knowledge with the general public, and make other participants at the congress discover your initiatives in scientific popularization. This will also be a unique opportunity to interact with many people deeply involved in scientific mediation who will be present (Scientibus, Maison de la Science,…). So don’t miss the chance to discover, acquire basic tricks or improve your skills in scientific mediation, or simply share your experience in scientific popularization.

This event is open to all participants at the congress, whether you are simply curious to discover how science can be made accessible to everyone with the support of experienced people, or these experienced people willing to share your passion for sciences.

To present your work, we propose 3 kind different formats:

  •  Speed-searching : Come and have an informal discussion with the public about the everyday life of a researcher, your research topics, if necessary illustrated with a few documents or objects of your choice.
  • Twin posters : You got selected to present a poster during the congress? Get the public to discover your research topic by preparing a second popularized poster, designed for the general public, and participate with both posters. You can use either of them depending on the public!
  • Demonstration set-ups : You have transportable demonstration set-ups available ? Then you can bring them and show the public science “in live”. By default, you get a table and access to an electric plug. If you have specific requirements, don’t hesitate to contact the organisers. And if you don’t have demonstration set-ups available, but would like to present some, ask us too. We might have some available.

All these contributions can also be presented during the Scientific Culture Exhibition which will take place during the 2 poster sessions of the congress.
